ARC Operations · Updated October 1, 2025 · All announcements
Beginning in the 2026 season, the competition is no longer called RoboMaster University League North America, and it no longer uses the RoboMaster brand. That follows a policy change outside our control.
The competition still happens. The field and the North American rules shift the way they have in past years. We are still using the same referee system and the same game server family teams already know. For a team in the pits, the week should feel familiar.
What teams needed to change
To register for 2026, a team name and team logo could not carry RoboMaster branding. Anything featured on our livestream, website, or Instagram had to be clear of that branding by the end of March 2026. Teams also competing in RMUC were asked to write in before scrubbing more than the registration required.
Branding that had to come off registered names and public ARC media:
- RoboMaster
- 机甲大师
- RM, RMNA
- DJI
- the “R” logo
A school can keep an internal club name. ARC refers to a team by the name it registers with. Old shirts and tablecloths did not have to be thrown out. Large signs with the old branding were asked to stay off the competition floor.
What did not change
- Team fees that had already been announced.
- Loaner referee systems, the same hardware used in RMUL 2025.
- The option to also compete in RMUC. Treat that as a separate event with its own assessments.
- Assessments still exist. They are submitted to ARC, not to the previous organizer. Teams in both events complete both sets.
Ordering of parts that used to go through offline purchase was still being worked out at the time of the original post. ARC said it would publish vendor updates as they landed.
What got freer
ARC writes and enforces its own participant, robot, and game rules. The previous organizer still publishes an English translation of its manuals, and ARC aims to keep deviations small enough that teams can keep doing both events. Sponsors are no longer restricted the way they were, which matters for schools that could not support the old branding.
Our manuals are the source of truth for this competition. Theirs are the source of truth for theirs.
Questions went to the community Discord, in the channel that was opened for the rebrand.
